Mi-Net Technology is a supplier of Laminated Windows in a variety of different materials for a variety of different applications.
Our laminated windows are manufactured using top of the range equipment in a clean room environment allowing for high levels of quality and consistancy.
Fully laminated windows consist of the two outer layers of glass or plastic bonded together with a clear optical interlayer. Micro-fine meshes and coloured optical films can also be incorporated for maximum contrast enhancement.
Substrates
Fully laminated window options are available in :
- Glass
- Polycarbonate
- Acrylic
- Optolite HSR
- Polarising Filter
- Privacy Filter

Materials can be manufactured to a maximum of 2000mm x 1500mm (Non Shielded) or 1900mm x 900mm (Shielded) with micro-fine mesh set at 90° angle.
For shielded windows a range of edge terminations are available together with conductive and adhesive gaskets. Please see http://www.mi-net.co.uk/Display-Filters-and-Laminated-Windows/shielded-filter-windows.php for further information on our Shielded Windows.
Surface Finishes
Non- Glare coatings are available in various gloss levels, a good cost effective solution in glass and plastic screens.
Multi-layer anti reflection coatings reduce the surface reflection and maximise the light transmission.
Anti-bacterial coated glass for hospital and medical applications EML filter windows can be manufactured with a micro-fine mesh or a clear conductive coating.
Polycarbonate
Offers high impact strength with excellent flammability ratings. An excellent light weight and strong alternative to glass. Available with non-glare and anti-reflective coatings, EMC / RFI shielded mesh and coloured interlayers.
Applications
Laminated Windows are used for a range of applications inlcuding:
- Electrical displays
- EMC/RFI Shielding
- Medical Shielding
- Military (see armoured glass)
- Transport
- Security

Laminated Display Filter for Electronic Displays
A laminated filter such as an infrared acrylic optical filter is suitable for use with high levels of radiation. This type of filter increases the signal-to-noise ratio, typically used in security systems with features including a non-glare finish.
A laminated filter reduces reflections by incorporating polarising filters and also non-polarising filters such as those used with the filter in electronic displays. A laminated filter can be constructed to specific client specifications; clients wanting a bespoke laminated filter typically come from the aerospace industry, and other industries including science, defence, electronics and photography.
A laminated filter produces an amazing combination of light and colour transmission, with low electrical resistance. The filter transfers light while reflecting infra red heat. Typical uses are film projector lamps, theatrical lights and certain types of window.
Woven metal meshes create the laminated filter and the mesh can either be incorporated in the laminated filter or supplied separately. The filter can include an acrylic filter that is structured especially. Applications include security systems and remote controls.
