Acrylic infrared filters are specially formulated to transmit infrared radiation at wavelengths greater than approximately 750nm and are therefore virtually opaque to visible light.
Infrared filters are suitable for use in systems which are triggered by near infrared signals, but which operate in environments where there is exposure to visible radiation. By eliminating the visible spectrum using an IR filter the signal to noise ratio is increased therefore improving the effectiveness of the system.
